I&M Foundation prioritizes water and energy security in KES 10m festive outreach

The I&M Foundation has rolled out a nationwide community outreach programme dubbed “A Time to Give,” bringing festive cheer and sustainable support to thousands of Kenyans during the holiday season.
The initiative will see the Foundation invest approximately KES 10 million in community projects across areas surrounding 22 newly opened I&M Bank branches countrywide. By anchoring the programme at the branch level, I&M Foundation aims to deliver fast, practical, and locally relevant interventions that respond directly to community needs.
The projects, identified by branch teams working closely with local stakeholders, focus on areas such as clean water access, renewable energy, disability inclusion, welfare support, and financial literacy. This approach is designed to foster sustainable impact while strengthening relationships between the bank and the communities it serves.
Speaking on the initiative, Dipna Shah, Sustainability Lead at I&M Bank, said the Foundation’s festive giving builds on a long-standing commitment to inclusive and sustainable development.
“Over the past five years, the I&M Foundation has invested in initiatives that create lasting value for communities. This Christmas, we are extending that impact by supporting projects that address real needs, from clean water and solar energy to improved welfare in schools and correctional facilities. ‘A Time to Give’ empowers our branch teams to be active agents of positive change within their local communities,” she said.
While water and energy solutions form a core pillar of the current outreach, the broader campaign continues to provide holistic support across the country. This includes the donation of wheelchairs at Gede Special School, the provision of bedding and hygiene supplies at Busia Prison, and financial literacy workshops for women entrepreneurs in Tatu City.
By integrating green energy and water infrastructure into its festive campaign, the I&M Foundation is setting a precedent for how corporate social responsibility can transition from temporary relief to long-term community resilience.
